Mother's Day Pictures

Better late than never on my Mother's Day post!

We had our friend, Chuck, take some pictures of our family last Saturday morning.  The kids weren't very smiley in most pictures, but we got a few where they were at least looking at the camera.  Guess that's all you can expect from a 2 and almost 1 year old!  Madelyn wanted to play on the playground and it was Theo's nap time so he was a sleepy little boy.

Here are a few...

After our picture fest, Tim and I headed to the Sounders soccer game with our friends Suzanne, Bill, Sabrina, Chuck, Michelle and Aaron.  It was a bright, sunny day at the soccer field. And the Sounders won!

Sunday we headed to church in the morning, then came home for the kids nap time.  I sent Tim to Costco because he loves that store and I'm not a big fan.  Unless I'm just there to browse.  Which rarely happens these days.  I cleaned the house up a little while he was gone.  Then he went out and got us some Chinese for dinner.  It was a nice, relaxing Mother's Day.

11 Months

So close to one Mr. Theodore!

Still happy and content all.the.time. (well, unless you're hungry...then you let us know!)

Here are some 11 month stats:

-You probably weigh about 19.5 lbs.

-Talking constantly-trying to communicate with your sister.  She thinks it's so funny!

-Working on walking!  You pull up on everything and walk around the side of your crib..sometimes for an hour before you fall asleep!  Eventually you just fall over, stick that thumb in and sleep.

-Wearing size 3 diaper with size 4 waiting for you, 12 and 12-18 month clothes, size 3 shoe

-Eating 6oz 4 times a day. We'll move you down to 4oz. in a couple days and see how you do. You're starting to pick out your favorite foods at the table.  Cheese and yogurt bites are definitely the first to go in your mouth.  You eventually eat everything.  Some things just a little slower than others.

-You celebrated your first Easter!

-Love drinking water out of a sippy cup with a straw!  We can't let you hold it by yourself yet or it goes on the floor.

-Going down at night around 7pm and waking up around 7:30-8am. Still taking 2 naps a day-am nap between 9:30-11 and pm nap between 1-3:30pm.

-This month you had your first real sickness.  A double ear infection and pink eye in both eyes!  Your pink eyes cleared up quickly, but you're still tugging at your ears a little bit.  The walk-in doctor said to have them checked at your 1 yr. appt. and make sure everything's cleared up.

-Almost 3 teeth!  One of your top teeth is popping through!  You're handling teething like a pro.  Very drooly and wet, but other than that, you're doing great kiddo!

-Still signing "more" and "all done".  You clap "more" like your sis did when she was your age.

Girly nails, big green ball, baby nephew and little boy sickness

Last weekend, MJ and I had a girly morning painting nails and watching "Tangled" (well, about 45 min of it....maybe I'll see how it ends someday) while Tim was at practice and Theo was napping.

Letting her red nails dry

This weekend has been quite eventful!

Madelyn's getting in 2 of her bottom back molars. So she's been acting just peachy! Ha! And potty training on top of that has been so.much.fun. Actually, she's doing pretty well. Love that girl.

Baby boy hasn't been feeling too great these past couple weeks. Mainly just a runny nose. So we thought he was teething. On Thursday, I came home from work and he had some yucky gunk in his eyes. I had a feeling it was more than just teething. We thought we'd give it a day and see how he was. I left for work Friday before anyone else was awake. Tim called saying Theo's eyes looked better, he didn't have a fever and was playing like normal. Being his happy self. So he came on to school to give his class midterms while Izzy watched the kids. We had another babysitter scheduled to come over that night so we could head out to see a movie. We saw the new movie "42". Really good!
Saturday morning Theo's eye yuckiness was back, but not as bad as Thursday. I had a haircut appt right after lunch so I took MJ to target to grab a few groceries in the morning before I headed out. We had Theo take his morning nap and decided I'd take him to the walk-in after my appt. We were the only ones in the clinic, thankfully! The doctor said he had a double ear infection and pink eye! Today I've stayed home from church and small group to take care of baby boy. He's slept most of day from the meds. But when he's awake, he's playing and having a good ole time. Such a little trooper.

Also on Saturday morning, my brand new baby nephew was born, Garrett Allen! He is such a cutie and my brother and sis-in-law are in love with him. Garrett and Crystal, his momma, are both healthy and doing great!

Here's to praying and hoping for a calm week....and that little girl won't get the eye yuckiness.

Easter 2013

Happy Easter!

This year we had a first for Madelyn-Easter egg hunting! It's beautiful up here in the Northwest so we went out yesterday before nap time and hid some eggs for her. She had fun and little brother hung out and watched. He was content sitting in the grass and playing with a couple plastic eggs.

This morning, Tim got to church early (as is his normal Sunday routine). This means I have to get the kids ready and out the door in time to teach during 1st service. I aim to leave 15 minutes before I really need to so that hopefully I'll leave on time. I wait til the last min to throw Theo's clothes and my clothes on to avoid spit up on the outfits. MJ's doing a great job potty training, but it means she has to use the potty before we leave. Then inevitably little boy likes to make a stinky right before we leave. Seriously, when we're walking out the door. Every Sunday it seems like.

Starting off my Sundays running around like a crazy mom doesn't always put me in the best mood on my way to church. I'm already tired and I haven't even taught my 1st and 2nd graders yet! But then I sit in the car driving to church and turn on the radio. There's always a song that comes on that speaks to me. This morning it was Casting Crowns "Glorious Day". Perfect song to hear this morning. I was reminded of how my God sacrificed His life for me, but then 3 days later on Easter Day, He rose again. I'm sure He was waaaay more tired and weary than I was this morning when He was hanging on that cross. Suffering for me.

Then sitting in service I heard a song by the choir "Love is Alive". Once again reminding me what Easter is all about and why we celebrate this day. Jesus is alive and hopefully living inside of each one of us.

After church, we met some friends for lunch, came home and now the babies are asleep.

Sundays are always long for us because we normally go back for small group in the evenings. But these long days are well worth it.

I tried snapping a few pics of the kids before church. We took a family pic right after church. It turned out...ok :).

Off to hunt eggs!

Best one of all 4!
